Weekly Podcast Rotation

News:

• Today Explained - I like Today Explained because sometimes they focus on just cool random topics that you wouldn't hear about normally on the news.

• The Daily - Would say they focus more on politics here but still good content from NYT

• Up First - Would day this is the most like a news show because it focuses on different topics for that one day, where as the other two focus on 1 topic per day.

For Fun:

• By the Book - Each week these girls live by a differen self help book, follow it to the letter, and report back on their trials and tribulations. I find this super entertaining and comical.

• Crime Junkie - I think most people know about this one by now but I love how they tell the crime stories in this podcast. I don't love all the extra "silly talk" that other crime podcasts do, so I like how there is a little banter here but mostly focused on the story itself.

• Anna Faris is Unqualified - This one has a ton of episodes with different celebs. It's what I would listen to if I have caught up on my other podcasts and just want to listen to something funny but also kind of mindless background noise haha.

• Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! - this show airs on NPR (I think on Saturday mornings?) and also airs as a podcast. It has an entertainment portion due to the celeb that they bring on, but also a satirical news element with the game show that they do on here. Solid multidimensional, podcast

Learning:

• EmpowerHER- ATTENTION BOSS LADIES: Listen to this podcast and thank me later.

• Freakanomics - I learn something new every time I listen to this and the topics can be very random and you just get a story of information that you definitely would not have thought about before.

• Hidden Brain - This one can get pretty in depth but if you are looking to dive a little more into why we think like we do, this one is for you! More scienc-y than Freakanomics.

• Sold in America - I LOVED this podcast and only wish it had more episodes. I think it aired for 1 or 2 seasons and was an expose on human trafficking in America. Very well done and you get to hear from the actual people that lived through these tragedies.

• Planet Money - These episodes are relatively short but focus on more than just your 401K. Anything money related - which is pretty much how the world runs, is on this podcast. Will always remember the story they told on here regarding how Salmon became so popular for sushi! Definitely worth a listen.

• Goal Digger Podcast - I like this podcast because it can be entertaining with the different entrepreneurs Jena brings on here. She also has a lot of education on how to create a business, being a girl boss, and using Instagram. However, she can get a little too "the world is full of roses and daisies" for me sometimes so I wouldn't consider this an every week podcast but good once in a while.
